Tom Mikus

  

Tom Mikus earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (combustion and turbomachinery) from MIT, had 35 years of technology experience with Exxon and Shell, and is Head of Research for CO2 Global. He served on Shell's GameChanger team (funding for innovation), founded and led the CO2 Capture Team at Shell, was Vice Chair of the CO2 Capture Project joint industry program, was on the executive committee of the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Programme, and was an advisor to the Carbon Capture and Sequestration Conference every year. Tom's 19 patents include flameless distributed combustion, and high-efficiency heat and power with CO2 capture. He currently serves on four Town of Rockport Massachusetts committees (Planning Board, Water, Rights of Way as Vice Chair, and Green Community as Chair), the steering committee of TownGreen2025, the organizing committee of the Cape Ann Climate Coalition, the HeatSmart Alliance, and the state environmental committee for the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts.
